About Botox for Excess Sweating Treatment

Botox is an effective treatment for hyperhidrosis, or excessive sweating, by blocking the nerve signals that trigger overactive sweat glands. When strategically injected into the targeted areas, Botox temporarily paralyzes the sweat glands, reducing excessive perspiration. This minimally invasive procedure offers long-lasting relief from the discomfort and embarrassment associated with excessive sweating, allowing individuals to regain their confidence and comfort.

On average, Botox injections for hyperhidrosis can provide relief from excessive sweating for about 4 to 6 months. Some individuals may experience results that last up to 7 to 9 months, while others might find relief for a slightly shorter duration.

What to Expect

Your journey begins with a consultation with Physician Assistant, Carmen Rayis. During this discussion, you’ll have the opportunity to express your concerns. Your provider will review your medical history to ensure you are an ideal candidate for this procedure. Then a treatment course with neuromodulator is planned to address excessive sweating. Once you’ve decided on a treatment plan, your provider will prepare you for the procedure. This involves cleansing the treatment area and mapping out the area for injections.

Botox injections are administered through a series of carefully placed injections. A fine needle is used to introduce the Botox into specific underarm area. The number of injections and the dosing used depends on your treatment plan.

During the injection process, you may feel a slight pinching or stinging sensation, but most patients find it tolerable. Many dermal fillers contain lidocaine, a local anesthetic, which helps to alleviate discomfort.
